92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Ripe pear, green apple and gooseberry flavors flourish in our Estate Sauvignon Blanc.

Alcohol: 13.5%

pH: 2.95

Production: 605 cases

Farm Practice: Demeter certified Biodynamic®

Tasting Notes: Fresh and enticing, with summertime aromas of freshly shorn hay and a sweet honeysuckle bouquet. On the palate, layers of ripe pear, green apple and a hint of gooseberry. Its flavors flourish in the wine’s minerality, and finishes with a spry zest.

Vineyard: This one acre vineyard was planted over 30 years ago on the south side of the estate in volcanic, rocky soil. The Sauvignon Blanc clone chosen at the time of planting is very rare and comes from the Loire Valley in France. Over the past 15+ years, the vines received no water during the growing season and have established extremely deep root growth. This wine is named in honor of Mary Benziger, who discovered this property in 1979 alongside her daughter, Erinn, and husband, Mike. She personally selected the site to produce her dream wine.
