Farm Practice: Demeter-certified Biodynamic
Tasting Notes: Vibrant and alive. This Bordeaux blend is approachable, beginning with its juicy entry. Aromas of Licorice, berries and dark cocoa mirror nicely on the palate. Muscular, yet agile, with a refinement to the overall finish. Drink now or cellar for the next 6-10 years.
Vintage: Growing season 2015 was in the fourth year of the severe drought in California. The normally rainy season between January and March was quite dry resulting in a lighter harvest and an early one. Sonoma Mountain harvest started in late August and finished in mid-October. While the average harvest during vintages 2013 and 2014 were high, 2015 brought us back to a vintage that was all about concentrated flavors and powerful tannins.
Vineyard Certification: Biodynamics is the most advanced and holistic form of organic agriculture, in which the farm itself is viewed as a living organism. It is distinguished from organic and sustainable farming by its ability to revitalize and individualize a property. In Biodynamics, we eliminate artificial inputs and minimize interference and manipulation at every stage of the growing and winemaking process.
